Is it really safe to extract archives online?
The archive is read in the browser with WebAssembly and is never uploaded. The network tab of the browser’s developer tools shows it.
What's the maximum file size?
There is no fixed limit; archives of a gigabyte and more open. In Chrome and Edge large files are written straight to disk instead of being held in memory.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once the page and its extraction engine have loaded, opening archives needs no connection.
How does it compare to WinRAR or 7-Zip?
It opens and extracts without installing anything. Creating archives with compression settings is still a job for 7-Zip; a plain ZIP can be made with Create ZIP here.
What browsers are supported?
Current Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge. Chrome and Edge can write large files straight to disk (File System Access API).
