Questions
How will my name be written in a Russian passport?
Choose "Passport": since 2014 Russian passports follow ICAO Doc 9303 — ю is iu, я is ia, й is i, ц is ts, ъ is ie, and ь is left out.
What is GOST 7.79 for?
It is reversible: every Cyrillic letter maps to its own Latin form (ъ is ``, э is e`), so the original can be restored. Used in libraries and bibliographies.
How do I type Russian on a Latin keyboard?
Choose "Latin → Cyrillic" and type: zh is ж, ch ч, sh ш, shch щ, yu ю, ya я, yo ё, j й, c ц, ' ь, '' ъ, e' э.
