Income tax and take-home pay (Russia)

Counts Russian personal income tax on the 2025–2026 progressive scale — 13, 15, 18, 20 and 22% — for a monthly salary month by month, or for a year. Works both ways: from pay before tax to take-home, and from the take-home you want to the pay to agree on.

Questions

Why does take-home pay drop late in the year?

Tax is counted on the year's income since January. Once it passes 2.4 million roubles, the part above is taxed at 15%, so a month after that brings less. The month that crosses the line is marked "13→15%": part of its pay is still taxed at 13%, so it loses less than the months after it.

What is not counted?

Deductions (children, property, medical), the 13/15% kept for northern bonuses and regional coefficients, the special scale for SVO participants, and non-residents (30%). For those, the result is an estimate.

What are the bands?

Up to 2.4 million a year — 13%; 2.4–5 million — 15%; 5–20 million — 18%; 20–50 million — 20%; above 50 million — 22%. Each rate applies only to the part of income inside its band.
