Questions

Which rate do I need?

22% is the general rate from 1 January 2026 (20% before). 10% applies to some food, children's goods, medicines and books. 5% and 7% are the reduced rates on the simplified system, without input VAT deductions.

How is VAT extracted from an amount?

VAT = amount × rate / (100 + rate). For 122,000 at 22% that is 22,000; without VAT — 100,000. Adding works the other way: amount × rate / 100.

Why can the kopecks differ from my accounting software?

Here the VAT is rounded once, on the whole amount. Software that counts VAT line by line and sums it can come out a kopeck or two apart; both ways are used in invoices.
